Get Involved
Working in the youth justice system is rewarding and worthwhile, enabling you to really make a difference to the lives of young people who have offended or are at risk of doing so.
There are two ways you can get involved in the youth justice system:
If you are interested in a career as a youth justice practitioner, we have information about the type of jobs and training available. Learn about what the Youth Justice National Qualifications Framework is and the different qualifications it is made up of.
If you would like to be a volunteer in youth justice, you can find out about the skills required, the training you would get and who you should contact. Read about the various volunteering roles available, including being an appropriate adult, a mentor or a youth offender panel member, or about how you can help young people with their reading.
Businesses can also get involved, by supporting staff in their volunteering work or by offering other services.
There are opportunties for people of all ages and with a variety of skills, so if you think you have what it takes, let your local youth offending team (YOT) know … and get involved.
