What is RSS?
RSS stands for 'Really Simple Syndication', and is a process that allows you to set up various ‘news feeds’. These news feeds allow you to see when our website is updated. You can get the latest headlines or updates in one place, as soon as they are published.
You can subscribe to an RSS news feed from this site, and you will be alerted when any page within the practitioners' area is updated, or when a news story is added. This will allow you to keep up to date with all aspects of the YJB’s work and guidance without having to visit the site time and again.
How to start using RSS feeds
The first thing you need is a news reader. This is a piece of software that checks our feeds and lets you read any of the updates or new pages that have been added. There are many different versions, some of which are accessed using a browser, and some of which are downloadable applications.
Below are some popular readers for you to download. Different readers are designed to work on different operating systems (Windows, Macs etc) so make sure you choose one that will suit your computer.
Microsoft Windows
Mac OS X
Web-based readers
Once you have chosen a news reader, all you have to do is to decide what content you want it to receive. Our website offers two news feeds - what's new in the practitioners' area, and our latest news. Click on the following links for an example of the content yo would receive and to subscribe.
With some readers, subscription will happen automatically; with others you will have to copy and paste these URLs into your news reader to subscribe. When you download your chosen news reader, you will be given instructions on what to do.
