Changes to local authority assessment
The publication in October 2006 of Strong and Prosperous Communities: the Local Government White Paper [opens in a new window] by the department of Communities and Local Government, and the subsequent passing into law of the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007 [opens in new window], swept away many of the current performance management processses at a local area level.
