The guidance for youth offending teams (YOTs), Sustaining the Success, formally published in October 2004, was informed by a review of the effectiveness of YOT structures. It builds on the 1998 guidance issued on establishing YOTs [opens in new window], which outlined the purpose of YOTs, how they should operate, and how their performance would be monitored.
Making It Count In Court
Making It Count In Court was produced by the YJB in collaboration with HM Courts Service in November 2009. This guidance provides YOT practitioners with a framework for effective delivery in court.
We also have guidance on managing demand for custody, including appropriate use of remand, as well as guidance and tools to help YOTs manage the release and recall process.
