The next intake for the YOT Managing People training is being

Managers in your YOT who have not yet undertaken this course and wish to do so should contact their local YJB regional/Wales workforce development adviser as soon as possible to obtain further information.
The course gives managers in YOTs the opportunity to study a special version of the Open University (OU) module, Managing People, contextualised for youth justice. This module is funded by the YJB, and allows successful participants to accumulate credits towards further modules that form part of the OU Certificate in Management.
There is a particular emphasis in the course on the role of operational managers in managing performance and overseeing effective practice through supervision and appraisal. Learning is through a mixture of self-directed study using OU materials, on-line tutor support and tutorials, and marked assignments. A condition of YJB sponsorship is attendance at an introductory day, details of which will be made available following participants' enrolment on the course.
