Through closer national and local cooperation, both organisations hope to be able to promote better outcomes for young people in areas such as crime prevention and reduction of reoffending as well as improving access to mainstream services and meeting the Every Child Matters outcomes.

On signing Ellie Roy, Chief Executive of the YJB, said:
“Clubs for Young People offer young people a safe, healthy environment where they can make positive contributions to their local community. Through engaging young people rather than excluding them, CYP can help young people achieve positive outcomes and thus deter them away from crime.
The alliance that this Memorandum of Understanding has created should mean more young people accessing the excellent support services offered by Clubs for Young People which in turn can help preventing offending.”
Simon Antrobus, Head of Clubs for Young People said:
“Clubs for Young People has a long and proud history of positive engagement between young people and the wider community. Collaborative approaches like this are an exciting step in our efforts to provide new and alterative opportunities for all young people.”
