The YJB today welcomes the reoffending data for 2006
published by the Ministry of Justice.
Frances Done, YJB Chair, said:
“I am pleased that the frequency and severity of reoffending by young people is continuing to fall. For these reductions to be sustainable we all need to carry on the good work of integrating young people back into the community and getting the support and help they need in areas such as education, training and housing.
The YJB continues to work with youth offending teams and the secure estate to drive up performance which includes revising the Key Elements of Effective Practice and the National Standards for Youth Justice Services, improving the way information on young people is used via Asset and maintaining the development of the youth justice workforce.”
